Screenprint on polystyrene from Ten Works X Ten Artists, The Wadsworth Atheneum
Printed on plastic, this screenprint is one of Lichtenstein's first Pop art prints, and the first to be printed on a material other than paper. The image serves as a portrait of mid-century American culture, and the sanitized feel of the sharp lines, the flat fields of red and blue, and the birght shiny surface evoke the idealized nature of print advertising.
Printed by Sirocco Screenprinters of North Haven under the supervision of Ives-Sillman of New Haven, CT.
