Annie, Gwen, Lilly, Pam and Tulip was published as part of the Library Fellows of the Whitney Museum of American Art’s “Artists and Writers” series, which paired contemporary artists and writers to create illustrated books. This book features a short story by acclaimed author Jamaica Kincaid and lithograph illustrations by Eric Fischl. Known for portraying the dark undercurrents of suburban America, Fischl contributes loose, figurative images that balance Kincaid’s coming of age story involving five girls. Fischl’s prints include 3 black-and-white and 6 color hors texte lithographs.
This volume was published in an edition of 145 and is signed by the author and artist.
