Essentially an early catalogue raisonné for this prominent Mexican sculptor, this book has been bound with an elaborate edition binding by Spanish-Mexican binder Fernando López Valencia. The book was published on the occasion of Francisco Zuñiga’s first retrospective at Mexico City’s Modern Art Museum, and it is the first monograph assessing his work. Through ninety-eight monochromatic lithograph plates, it is a comprehensive survey of his sketches, paintings and, most importantly, his sculptures.
The French binding features an attractive geometric pattern of different colors of leather and is embossed with gold leaf. It has a exquisite cloth-covered slip case. This edition binding is a limited edition of 112 copies, each signed by the artist, the binder, the author, and the gallery director responsible for the publication.
