Sarah Bryant is an artist who creates books under the imprint Big Jump Press. Bryant studied art as an undergraduate at Vassar College and completed an M.F.A. in the Book Arts Program at University of Alabama in 2008. She has taught at Wells College, the University of Alabama, and Arts University, Bournemouth, UK.

Many of the approximately thirteen books Bryant has created to date are letterpress printed.  As an artist, she is known for her conceptual approach to bookmaking and her colorful books often feature innovative means of data visualization in order to explore a subject artistically. Recently she has been involved with Shift-lab, a collaborative project with book artists and printmakers Katie Baldwin, Denise Bookwalter, Macy Chadwick, and Tricia Treacy.

Bryant’s important books include Biography (2010), which explored the chemical elements found in the human body, and Fond (2012), a personal study of objects the artist collected. Created in collaboration with biology professor David Allen, her book Figure Study (2015) examines world population data through interactive diagram prints.

Bryant’s work can be found in many institutions, including the Art Institute of Chicago Flaxman Library, Harvard University Houghton Library, and Yale University Haas Arts Library. Her book Biography was awarded the 2011 MCBA Prize from the Minnesota Center for Book Arts and the 2010 Award for Artistic Excellence at the Pyramid Atlantic Book Fair.
